PHTI provided input to the American Medical Association’s (AMA) CPT Editorial Panel in response to its February 2024 meeting agenda. The meeting included Tab 50 – Remote Monitoring which included major revisions to remote physiologic monitoring (RPM) and remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM). PHTI’s Interested Party letter urged the AMA to delay consideration of this coding simplification due to the need for additional evidence generation to better understand how RPM and RTM work, for whom, in which clinical settings and over what duration to net clinical benefit. The AMA has withdrawn the proposal, and plans to return to it in the spring. Read PHTI’s letter here.
