The Peterson Health Technology Institute (PHTI) provides independent evaluations of innovative healthcare technologies to improve health and lower costs. Through its rigorous, evidence-based research, PHTI analyzes the clinical benefits and economic impact of digital health solutions. These evaluations inform decisions for providers, patients, payers, and investors, accelerating the adoption of high-value technology in healthcare. PHTI was founded in 2023 by the Peterson Center on Healthcare.
About the Opportunity
PHTI is seeking an Associate to help drive the execution of rigorous, evidence-based assessments of innovative digital health technologies. This role will play a crucial part in various components of the health technology assessment process, including reviewing clinical and economic evidence, supporting company and stakeholder engagement, conducting market and policy research, and drafting reports. The Associate will work with internal teams and external partners to advance all aspects of the assessment process and dissemination of PHTI’s reports and findings.
More specifically, the responsibilities include:
Contribute to Core Assessment Production
- Assist in all aspects of PHTI report creation.
- Conduct relevant background, technology, and policy research.
- Review clinical and economic evidence, analyze findings, develop narratives, and contribute to drafting of PHTI’s reports.
- Analyze the economic burden of select health conditions and model the impact of the digital health technology on economic outcomes.
- Project manage key report production processes.
Support Dissemination of PHTI’s Findings
- Assist in building collateral for public dissemination.
- Create materials to drive engagement with key partners.
- Contribute to the creation of documents, presentations, and other collateral for conferences, advisory board and partner meetings, and webinars.
Partner Closely with Internal and External Teams
- Support engagement with external partners to drive project execution.
- Partner with internal functional expert teams such as policy and communications to drive PHTI’s objectives.
Support Company Identification and Engagement Strategy
- Assist in the PHTI topic and company identification process.
- Conduct targeted research and tracking of digital health products and investments.
- Oversee research to inform assessment topic selection, inclusion criteria, and company identification for PHTI reports.
- Support engagement and outreach efforts with companies under assessment.
Culture and Other Responsibilities
- Stay current on emerging trends, players, policy and best practices in digital health and related fields.
- Support an internal culture of learning and strategic decision making in service of organizational mission.

Professional Experience
- Three years or more of experience in healthcare at a management consulting, strategy, business operations or other professional services organization.
- Program, project management, or related experience.
- Intellectual curiosity and interest in healthcare delivery, healthcare system transformation, and healthcare policy.
- A bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree in health policy, public health, business or related-field preferred.
- Less than 20% travel required.
- In order to build productive relationships across the organization and to ensure effective collaboration, this role requires in-person presence in accordance with the organization’s hybrid schedule of working in the office three days per week (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday).
Salary and Benefits
We anticipate that the starting base salary range for this position will be $75,000 to $87,500, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of factors, such as skills, experience, qualifications, education, and the location in which the job will be performed. In addition, we offer an extensive benefits package to support our employees, including comprehensive health insurance, a substantial 401k match, paid time off, a hybrid work schedule and other flexible work policies.
