New Hires at the Peterson Health Technology Institute

Core to PHTI’s operating model is bringing together leaders with diverse expertise from the digital health ecosystem in support of our mission. We are excited to announce the newest members of our team who combine deep experience in industry, academia, and policy.
Meg Barron, Managing Director Engagement and Outreach
Meg is a national thought leader in healthcare who focuses on standards for advancing high-value digital health in clinical settings. Prior to PHTI she was the Vice President of Digital Health Innovations & Strategy at the American Medical Association (AMA) where she developed and led a roadmap of national initiatives with collaborators.
She participates on the Advisory Board for digital health incubator MATTER, with whom she worked closely to help build collaborations between entrepreneurs and physicians. She is also on the Advisory Board for MassChallenge HealthTech, MedTech Color FDA Collaborative Community, Together.Health, Node Health Global Advisory Board, the Editorial Review Board of The Telehealth and Medicine Today Journal and was a past TEDMed Research Scholar.
Meg was recently named a Rising Star: 104 Healthcare Leaders to Know by Beckers Hospital Review. Meg has published articles in Health Affairs, Harvard Business Review and Nature Digital Medicine and frequently participates at national conferences and events.
David Silk, Managing Director, Strategic Operations
David is a commercial healthcare leader with over 20 years of experience building and launching innovative health technology solutions. David has held numerous leadership roles across marketing, sales, product development, and strategy and is an expert in the organizational design of health technology companies. David’s experience includes leading commercial functions at TMRW Life Sciences, Butterfly Network, Google, and Pfizer. He began his career in health policy at Avalere Health, where he was one of the founding members of the reimbursement and product commercialization practice.
David holds a degree in history, cum laude, from Princeton University and an MBA in healthcare management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Vanessa Juth, Principal, Assessment
Vanessa is a digital healthcare researcher with experience in both academic and commercial settings. She led initiatives focused on the integration of digital health technologies in clinical settings at Abbvie/Allergan and Accenture, and guided the implementation of health technology to drive care improvements at Children’s Hospital of Orange Country.
Vanessa holds a PhD in Health Psychology and an MPH in Sociocultural Diversity & Health from UC Irvine, where her research used digital health solutions to identify impactful points for health interventions. In recognition of her multi-disciplinary research, she received an NIH fellowship from the Institute of Clinical and Transdisciplinary Science and did a post-doctoral fellowship at the Department of Biobehavioral Health at Pennsylvania State University.
